Child Development teachers Lauren Arnet and Erin Hagglund are collecting diapers to donate to charity. Rockwoods Parents As Teachers (PAT) Diaper Drive takes place during the month of October.

“The Eureka Child Development 2 teacher, in conjunction with the Early Childhood Center, decided that we are going to team up as high schools to compete,” Arnet said.

The PAT has been involved in helping parents in need for 30 years. One in three families in struggles to provide diapers for their children, according to statistics.

“We are donating the diapers to the St. Louis area Diaper Bank and Rockwood families in need. It’s the 30th anniversary of the diaper drive for Rockwood,” Arnet said.

“PAT is a program that’s available for parents who may need help parenting well,” Arnet said.

This years goal is  to collect 3,330 diapers. Arnett suggest to donate a whole box or an open package your child has outgrown.

All diapers are given to the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank and to Rockwood families in need. Drop off diapers in Rooms 110 and 113.
