At the 2022 Madrigal Dinner, Class of 2022 Graduate Caleb Bolton performs as a part of the Royal Court. This dinner is an ongoing tradition occurring every other year during December. The next event will be in 2026.

Softball prevails in close fight with Jackson 9-8

Sophomore batter Sidney Vogt attempts to bunt. This game was against Parkway West, Sept 10, 2024.

Senior right fielder Lauren Pauls hauls in a fly ball in the last inning to hold on to the win for the Lancers. Lafayette played Jackson in a close contest ending in a 9-8 win for the team, Oct 12.

The game began with a score of 0-5 and the Lancers trailing. When the game entered its 4th inning the Lancers needed to score runs to get back in the contest. At the bottom of the 4th inning, batters Pauls, juniors Maddie Boes and Addison Long, sophomore Elizabeth Meier and freshman Whitney Drapalik scored RBI’s tie up the game 5-5.

Jackson batters scored three more points in the 5th inning to make the score 5-8. Lafayette responded with an RBI from Drapalik and Long and senior batter Abby Carr scored a two RBI to gain the lead of 9-8. The Lancers were able to hold this lead to beat the Indians.

 

After a couple of infield errors, the Indians took the lead 0-2 at the top of the 1st inning.

The Lancers struggled to score in the 2nd inning and an Indian home run set them back five points.

Maddie Boes walked to begin Lafayette’s scoring streak. After four more RBI’s the game became all tied up at 5-5.

Jackson responded with three more runs to make the score 8-3 in the 5th inning.

 

Whitney Drapalik set the tone at bat with an RBI. Lafayette scored three more runs before the end of the 5th inning to capture the lead of 9-8.

 

The Lancers held onto their lead until the end to bring their record to 23-5 for the season.
