Sport: Football
Head coach: Curt Mueller
Previous season placement: The Lancers finished 12-2 last season and made it to the MSHSAA Class 5 State Semifinal for the first time since 2012, but fell to Helias Catholic 14-13.
Goals for the season: “The goal is that when our players leave the program they feel more confident in themselves,” Mueller said. “ Our long term goal is to compete and win a state championship, but we don’t talk about it because we focus on what we have to do each and every day.”
Players to watch: Mueller said the team will rely on all of their seniors. He specifically mentioned seniors Terance Bills, Jack Gebel, Noah Ice, Baron James, Brady Micek, Nathan Schwallie and Tim Washington as key players this season.
Team slogan: “Never be outworked,” Mueller said. “It’s our goal everyday. We step on the field and no other team is going to outwork the Lafayette Lancers.”
Adapting to the team: “As a new head coach, I’m adapting to a great culture that’s already here and then bringing my own stuff with it. Coach Manne has done a great job with this football program and my goal is to continue to elevate it,” Mueller said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
