Boys Cross Country
Cross Country competed at the Festus Bowles Invitational Sept 16. The Lancers placed 3rd with senior Jack Robeson placing 2nd overall for varsity. “Overall, I think we might be able to qualify as a team to state. That’s always been the big goal for the season, especially after last year where we missed it by one place. Now with SLUH in a different district, our chances got a lot better,” Robeson said. Coming up, they will participate in the Gans Creek Classic Sept. 23.
Girls Cross Country
The girls also competed at the Festus Bowles Invitational, placing first as a team and senior Natalie Barnard placed first. They also will compete at the Gans Creek Classic.
Football
Winning their game this week, the Lancers continued their winning streak. They faced Northwest Cedar Hill Sept. 15, winning 63-0. This week, they will play Parkway West at the Homecoming game Sept. 22.
Field Hockey
With winning results this week, varsity field hockey beat Eureka 6-0 Sept. 13. The Lady Lancers then played Parkway West Sept. 14, winning 5-1. They will face Ursuline Sept. 21.
Golf
With junior Addison Surber placing 2nd, girls golf placed 4th overall at the Rockwood Summit Invitational Sept. 12. They followed that with a 177-212 win against Eureka Sept. 13. This week, the girls will play Webster Groves Sept. 18, Rockwood Summit Sept. 19, and Farmington Sept. 20.
Boys Soccer
The Lancers went 2-1 last week. With wins against Pattonville and Parkway South, 1-0 and 4-1 respectively, continued their four-game win streak. However, their streak was broken against Lindbergh, Sept. 14. They are 5-3 for the season. They again have three games this week, Parkway North Sept. 18, Parkway Central Sept. 19 and Ladue Sept. 21.
Boys Swimming & Diving
Finishing second in their tri-meet against Chaminade and Ladue, with Chaminade topping them, Sept. 12. However, the Lancers bounced back with a win against Parkway West, Sept. 14. The Lancers will face Rockwood rivals Marquette, Sept. 21, and captain junior Sreeram Manchikalapudi is confident. “Our rivalry against Marquette has been long-standing, this year will be different and we will win. Our team has consistently gotten better and better as years passed by. Everyone has worked hard for this moment,” Manchikalapudi said.
Girls Tennis
In their second loss of the season, the Lady Lancers were defeated by MICDS 6-3. But they got some respite with a win against Clayton, 8-1. The Lady Lancers also placed 2nd in the Alton “Robert Logan” Invitational, with senior and sophomore double Amber and Mia Yin playing 1st in the 1st flight. The Lady Lancer’s packed schedule continues with a game against Parkway West Sept. 18, Westminster Sept. 19 and Parkway Central Sept. 21.
Girls Volleyball
The Lady Lancers went 4-2 last week. They beat the Eureka Wildcats 3-0 in the Battle of 109, Sept. 13 and beat Parkway West 3-0, Sept. 14.The Lady Lancer had their first losses of the season at the Lee’s Summit West MO-KAN Tournament. Losing against St. Thomas Aquinas and Lee’s Summit West, both 2-1. But they did win against Blue Springs South and Lee’s Summit, 2-0 at the tournament. The Lady Lancers will face Borgia and Lindbergh, Sept. 19 and Sept. 21, respectively.
Softball
Falling just short, the Lady Lancers placed 2nd in the Suburban Softball Showdown in the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex. They beat Hillsboro, Summit, Incarnate Word and Webster Groves. However, they lost 1-0 against Washington in the championship game. They ended their week with a loss against Northwest 3-1, Sept. 15. The Lady Lancers will play Parkway West Sept. 18, Marquette Sept. 19 and Timberland Sept. 20.
