Weekly sports update: Oct. 21-Oct. 27

Boys Cross Country: The varsity team competed in Districts at Brookdale Farms on Oct. 26. The team finished 3rd overall and will advance to Sectionals on Nov. 2. All-District Athletes from the meet include Nikolas Malek, 7th, Aiden Murphy, 9th, Alex McMillen, 13th, Vikas Devalupalli, 15th and Lucas Groenwald, 30th.

Boys Soccer: On Oct. 21, the team played against Wentzville Holt and won 4-1. The following night, the team lost to Eureka, 2-0. On Oct. 25, they won against Francis Howell Central, outscoring them 2-1. With the two wins and one loss, the team’s current record is 16-5-1. This week, the Lancers will play Summit at home on Oct. 28 at 4:30 p.m. Their final game of the week will be at MICDS on Oct. 30.

Boys Swimming: On Oct. 22, the Lancers tied Lindbergh High School 99-99. Then they traveled to Springfield, Missouri for the Springfield Invitational from Oct. 25 to Oct. 26. They ended up placing 4th out of 21 teams. The team’s next meet will be on Nov. 5.

Field Hockey: The Lady Lancers played Whitfield High School in the Round of 16 State game. They won the match, 6-1, and will compete in the State Quarterfinals on Oct. 29.

Football: On Oct. 25, the Lancers lost to Marquette 34-13 in their last game of the season. The Lancers scored their touchdowns on a 35 yard run from Caden Phipps and an 81 yard pass from TJ Bright to Marsean Fisher. Their next game will be against Lindbergh on Nov. 1 for the first round of Districts.

Girls Cross Country: The Lady Lancer varsity team competed in Districts at Brookdale Farms on Oct. 26. The team finished 3rd overall and will advance to Sectionals on Nov. 2. Grace Tyson placed 1st out of all runners, and is an All-District Athlete. Other All-District Athletes include Hope Ware, 9th, Kelsey Johnson, 14th and Elissa Barnard, 22nd.

Girls Golf: Junior Brooke Biermann became the Class 2 MSHSAA Girls Golf State Champion on Oct. 22. She shot a -1 in 36 holes over two days at the Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, MO.

Girls Tennis: Sophomore Kate Ferguson finished in 2nd place at the MSHSAA Girls Individuals Tennis Tournament in Springfield, earning her second state medal of her career.

Girls Volleyball: On Oct. 23, the Lady Lancers beat Nerinx Hall in three games. For their senior night, on Oct. 24, they beat Francis Howell in two straight games. Their next match will be on Oct. 28 playing in Districts at Eureka High School.
