Boys Swimming and Diving

With three new school records in hand, the Lancers placed 3rd in State. Senior Caleb Warner broke two of these school records and became a State Champion in the 200-meter individual medley (1.52.38) and the 100-meter breaststroke (56.13). Warner is proud of his team. “I’m very happy with how the team placed at State. From going from 14th place in both my freshman and sophomore years to 6th place my junior year and now 3rd place this year. The whole team stepped up and improved a ton, and I’d say the whole team is very happy about our performance,” Warner said. Also breaking a school record, senior Sam Bolla placed 3rd in the 100-meter butterfly (50.97). Other All-State finishes include 2nd place in both the 200-meter medley relay and the 200-meter freestyle relay. The former had a team of Bolla, Warner, senior Gregory Shao and junior Ryan Huang. The medley relay had a team of Bolla, Shao, Warner and senior James Thompson. Additionally, the 400-meter freestyle relay got 8th place with the relay consisting of Bolla, Thompson, Shao and junior Matteo Freire. Junior and team captain Sreeram Manchikalapudi knows next year will be different without the seniors. “Our seniors are going to be missed, they gave us great memories and broke many school records for us to look back on. They set the bar and we are going to strive to continue another year of excellence,” Manchikalapudi said.
