Riding the sideline, junior Andrew Dillard sprints past his Fort Zumwalt West defender. The Lancers trailed 3-1 at halftime, however, they came back to win 4-3 in overtime, with Dillard scoring the equalizer.

Boys Cross Country

The Lancers finished 4th Place as a team at the District Meet, qualifying for State in Columbia Nov. 4. Seniors Dillion Cronin and Jack Robeson both placed in the top 10.

Girls Cross Country

At Districts, the Lady Lancers placed 2nd as a team, qualifying for State in Columbia Nov. 4. Senior Natalie Barnard placed 1st and senior Ashley Rinkenberger placed in the top 10 as well.

Field Hockey

In the State Quarterfinal game against Villa, the Lady Lancers lost 8-0, ending their season.

Boys Soccer

After coming back from a 3-1 deficit at halftime, the Lancers rallied for a 4-3 overtime win over Fort Zumwalt West, Oct. 25. Junior James Kolb got a brace with the two other goals coming from junior Andrew Dillard and the overtime winner coming from junior Landen Peroutka. The Lancers went into District Quarterfinals Oct. 30 against Chaminade and lost the game 2-0, ending their season.

Boys Swimming & Diving

At Conference, the Lancers broke three school records and took first in three events. Seniors Caleb Warner and Sam Bolla both placed first and broke school records in the 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter butterfly, respectively. In addition to that Warner won the 200-meter individual medley. Placing second at the meet, the Lancers’ 200-meter medley relay also broke a school record with a team of Bolla, senior Gregory Shao, Warner and junior Ryan Huang. In the end, the Lancers placed 3rd as a team in Conferences. This is the second time the Lancers have broken the 200-meter medley relay this year, Warner isn’t surprised. “I was 99% sure we were going to break the school record. I think me and the whole relay felt relieved when we finally got the record,” Warner said. “We were so close to the [record] the whole season.”

Girls Volleyball

After being down 2-0, the Lady Lancers completed the reverse sweep against Marquette to win Districts. Starting their comeback with a win in a long third set, 34-32, the Lady Lancers could not be stopped by the Mustangs. Then they moved on to the State Quarterfinals against Jackson and swept them. The Lady Lancers will play their State Semifinal game at SEMO, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. They will take on the winner of Blue Springs South and Kickapoo. The Lady Lancers swept both of these teams earlier in the season.
