The Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test will take place Wednesday, Feb. 19 to show students what career field would best suit them after high school.

Originally, the test was planned to be Wednesday, Feb. 5 but was moved due to inclimate weather.

The test is completely free and all sophomores, juniors and seniors can sign up to take the ASVAB test.

“The program is designed to encourage students to increase their level of self-knowledge and to understand how that information could be linked to civilian and military occupational characteristics,” the ASVAB website said.

After taking the test students get a report of how they answered the questions and a list of occupations they may be interested in.

“This year we had much more sign-ups then previous years. I’m glad that kids are looking more into their futures,” Mike Berenc, Air Force Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) teacher and ASVAB program coordinator, said.

This year Jessica Brawner, Testing Coordinator, is head of the ASVAB program.

“My job is to make sure we have a location,” Brawner said.

This year it will take place in the Theatre from 8:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
