Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition Week

Madison Kesselring, Reporter

This week begins Rockwood’s fifth annual Drug-Free Coalition week.

The committee celebrates their recognition of Missouri’s 2013 Coalition of the Year along with the announcement of funding produced by the Office of National Drug Control Policy. This funding is the start of a second five year cycle. In 2009, a ten year funding program began which will reward Rockwood’s Coalition with a total of $1,250,000.

The committee has and will continue to use the money to invest “wisely in prevention programming, staffing and advocacy initiatives that help protect youth,” said Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition Director Renee Heney.

The next coalition meeting will be at LaSalle Springs Middle School Library on Oct. 9 at 3:45 pm until 5:15 pm.
