Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Senior Brianna Stitch donates blood on Jan. 27, 2023. STUCO’s blood drive last year. ARC collected 81 pints of blood during last year’s drive.

Friday, Jan. 26, STUCO will be hosting its annual Blood Drive in the Back Gym. Students can sign up to donate blood through the American Red Cross website. Once on the website, enter sponsor code ‘LafayetteHS’ and schedule an appointment from 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

In order to give blood, All donors must bring a valid photo ID. 16-year-olds can donate with a signed ARC consent form.

The ARC website says in order to donate, donors must “be in good general health and feeling well.”

Additionally, they must weigh at least 110 pounds.

STUCO sponsor David Choate encourages people to sign up to donate.

“The ARC said this is the worst shortage they’ve seen in 20 years. One donation saves up to three lives so it’s a great way to give back to help your fellow man and woman,” he said.

As an incentive to participate in the event, the ARC is partnering with the NFL this January, during National Blood Donor Month, and those who donate between Jan. 1-31 will automatically be entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
