Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

New Year, New Cookies: 2013 Girl Scout Cookie Sales Begin

It’s that time of the year again: time to restock your favorite Girl Scout cookies! Sales started on Saturday, Jan. 12, and will continue until March 17.

This year, there is even more to look forward to. In order to celebrate Girl Scouts of America’s 100th year, the packaging is redesigned for the first time since 1999 to feature the skills Girl Scouts represents. These skills include goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. The boxes are also more eco-friendly.

In addition to new packaging, there is a new cookie called Mango Crèmes. They are vanilla and coconut sandwich cookies with mango-flavored crème filling. They also contain Nutrifusion with means they are relatively healthy because they have nutrients and vitamins from various fruits.

The original cookies you love like Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Shortbreads, Do-Si-Dos, Lemonades and Thanks-A-Lots will, of course, still be available.

Tagalongs are senior Angela Robinson’s personal favorite. She has been a proud Girl Scout since kindergarten and encourages everyone to buy cookies.

“They’re good. And it supports the younger kids especially because there are prizes so it makes them want to achieve and sell more cookies,” Robinson said.

Each box is $3.50 and you can order from any Girl Scout you know or that comes to your door. The cookies will be delivered starting on Feb. 27. Booth sales will also begin on the Feb. 27 in front of local grocery stores.

Start your year with the top selling cookies in America by ordering some Girl Scout cookies today!
