Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

The Lafayette Guitar Festival will be held in the theatre on April 19 at 7 p.m. and admission is free.

The festival will feature the three guitar groups in the school, Tuesday Night Rock Band, Guitar Ensemble and Thursday Jam.

“They’ve been practicing and playing different places all year, but this is our big year-end thing,” Traci Bolton, guitar teacher said. “It’s like a rock concert, with a little classic guitar in it.”

Bolton added that she’s excited to be able to showcase what the groups have been working on all year.

“It’s a chance to be in the theatre in a big performance space where we can have all the lights and sound and really make it a polished event,” she said.

Luke Uebelein, bassist for the Tuesday Night Rock Band, said that each group plays different styles of guitar. He’s looking forward to being able to combine the groups at the festival.

“It’s fun to play with different groups, different people and different styles of music,” he said.
