Sophomores will be taking the PLAN test on Wednesday, Oct. 3, During class hours 1 through 4 in preperation for the ACT test taken normally during a student’s junior or senior year.
During the PLAN, students are assigned to a room and table by last names with three people to a table. The test is held so students can get a feel of what the real ACT test is like.
The test questions are similar to the questions on the real test, and over the same subjects as the real ACT test: Reading, Math, Science and English. PLAN points out academic strengths and areas that need improvement to let students know if they’re on the right path for college.
After the test, students receive a score that is said to be a prediction of what they will receive on the real test. Though PLAN is a simulation of the ACT, some students said the PLAN did not help them because they haven’t taken the necessary classes to answer all the questions.
Senior Karen Jackson said, “The PLAN test did not help, but prep classes did.”
