Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Picture Retake passes available now

Acne… bed-head hair… smeared mascara, only a few of the flaws that cause students to retake their school pictures from orientation day earlier this year.

Picture Retakes will be eligible for students who were never photographed by Lifetouch or their original photos did not turn out due to technical problems with a camera. These students will automatically receive an appointment card automatically.

Other students who were not pleased with their pictures may have them re-taken on Oct. 5, as long as they bring their original photos to the photographer on the day of the retakes. It is also mandatory that they make an appointment with yearbook adviser Nancy Smith in Room 137A before Oct. 5.

Students should meet in the hallway behind rooms 137/137A on Friday, Oct. 5 for their picture retakes.

A representative from Lifetouch said, “Retakes are for two things; first absentees, we must get students photographed, and secondly they didn’t like their expression or hair.”

Sudents who are not pleased with the turn out of their original photos will be retaking their pictures. One of these students is freshman Allie McGuire.

“I slept in orientation day and didn’t have time to do my hair,” she said. To make sure her retakes are perfect she says, “I’m going to wake up earlier!”

If a parent has any questions about the picture retakes they may e-mail Mrs. Smith at [email protected]
