Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Two wrestlers place at State

Two wrestlers place at State

On Feb. 17 -18, six Lancer wrestlers competed for State at the University of Missouri—Columbia.

The State wrestlers consisted of Seniors Ryan Jones, Khahyil Moore, Marshall Sleet, juniors Kirk Bradley, Nick Olejnick and freshman Alec Reid. With three underclassmen making the trip, the Lancers have high hopes for the future of the wrestling program at Lafayette.

Two wrestlers placed at State, including Olejnik who brought home third place and Jones who brought home fourth place.

Olejnik has won third place two years in a row and said he is determined to win State next year.

Freshman 126-pound class wrestler Alec Reid said, “When five guys and I went to State we had high hopes for everyone. There were a lot of talented wrestlers at the competition.”

“Although I didn’t place in State I was very proud of all my teammates. They worked very hard and showed that they had a reason to be there,” Reid said.
