As Spring Break 2012 approaches, students are preparing for trips to various areas of the world. Many juniors are taking trips with families to help decide their future plans, while some seniors are looking forward to the trip of a lifetime.
Juniors such as Ellie Bednarek are visiting colleges with family by going to Nashville. However, she is not skipping out on the fun of spring break.
“I think I’m going to a fashion show too so that’ll be fun,” she said.
Another junior, Emmy Alicea had the same idea by turning a college visit trip to Chicago into a fun time with friends.
“I am going with my family but I will be meeting friends while I’m there. Since it’s in Chicago it will be a good time because there’s so much to do in the city,” Alicea said.
Others, such as junior Adam Johnson, are making their college visits out to be family road trips.
“I’m going on college visits across the East Coast. I’m visiting some family and Washington D.C is always fun,” he said.
For seniors, this year is their final Spring Break of High School, so they are planning their trips down to a “T.”
Senior Grace Nauman is going on a cruise to Mexico with family and friends.
“For a while now we’ve been talking about it with our friends and so we’re all excited to go,” Nauman said.
The trend for this year seems to be staying in all-inclusive resorts. Both seniors Alodia Girma and Michael Mueller have this idea.
“We just wanted to do something fun for our senior trip. We’re staying on a resort so we’ll probably just hang out there for most of the time,” Girma said.
Mueller was also interested in the resort aspect of his senior trip.
“I’m going to Cancun. We were just looking for an all-inclusive place that was on a beach and had enough room for all of our friends,” he said.
Mueller’s group consists of six families equaling to about 24 people.
Whether students are making a vaction out of college visits or are going to a tropical destination for Spring Break 2012, it is sure to be a break to remember.
