Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

District Art Show to take place April 21

District Art Show to take place April 21

Da Vinci, Monet, Picasso and Van Gogh all started out as art students at one point in time, just like the artists within the Rockwood School District. The next Da Vinci, Monet, Picasso or Van Gogh could be a part of our school or district, and their artwork is going to be on display on April 21-22 at the Rockwood School District Art Show.

“The art show is at Selvedge Middle School, off new Ballwin Road, from noon to three,” art teacher Lauren Sakowski said.

According to Sakowski, art teachers chose artwork from first and second semester students.

“We will have a variety of everything because there is art showing from every single class, so Art Fundamentals through Ceramics, Graphic Design, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and all the way through what the AP Studio kids are doing,” she said.

Sakowski encourages everyone to attend, saying everyone will enjoy viewing the art.

“Art is amazing and important, and it’s who we are as a culture. It’s descriptive of who we are as a culture and it’s ingrained into who we are as human beings to create,” she said.
