Aslin crowned 2010-2011 Mr. LHS

This year’s Mr. LHS did not disappoint the theatre full of screaming girls. The competition started off with a choreographed dance performed by all 20 contestants, and from then on the entertainment would not stop.

After the dance, each participant was asked to describe themselves, and why they should be crowned Mr. LHS. After this, the panel of judges narrowed the candidates down to 10.

All 10 lined up in their casual wear and had the hosts announce what school activities each contestant participated in, and then there were five.

The remaining five contestants went through a question and answer competition, which consisted of questions like what their best pickup line was and what was their favorite Taylor Swift song.

One of the most entertaining events of the night was the talent competition. Each guy randomly chose a talent he had to perform. Some of the tasks consisted of reciting an embarassing prompt, writing their name with their butt, making up their own dance or walking in high heels across the stage.

“I was impressed with all the talents,” Assistant Principal Matt Dieckhaus said.

After the talent competition ended, the judges crowned Mr. Marching Band, senior David Aslin, as Mr. LHS.

“I didn’t think I’d make it past the first round because I wasn’t funny like most of the other guys were. I was just myself and it turned out in my favor. But really, I’m thrilled that I was picked to represent this year’s Mr. LHS and I’m thankful for the audience’s and the judges’ support,” Aslin said.
