Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Lancers come up short in marathon shootout against Marquette

Lancers come up short in marathon shootout against Marquette

On Fan Appreciation Night and against their undefeated rivals from Marquette, the Lancers spent all the energy they could. But after two extra periods and seven rounds of penalty kicks, the Mustangs emerged with a 2-1 victory to remain on top of the Suburban West standings.

The Lancers were forced to play catch up after giving up a goal to talented sophomore Keith Grieshaber, who was named All-State as a freshman, late in the first half.

They were able to tie it up just two minutes into the second half when junior Bogi Atansov received a cross and scored from the top of the 18-yard box.

“Tying it up was great,” Atanasov said, “but penalties came and we had to focus on our kicks (more).”

The loss dropped the Lancers to 13-5-1 on the season and snapped a four-game winning streak. They have five games remaining before Districts, starting with a trip to Eureka on Oct. 18.

“We took it well. We are going to use this loss to our advantage in Districts,” Atanasov said, “Marquette showed incredible sportsmanship by telling us ‘great game’ and to keep our heads up.”
