Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Cookie stand expected to open within the week

Cookie+stand+expected+to+open+within+the+week

In past years, students walking past the sophomore hallway, would smell Otis Spunkmeyer cookies baking in the famous “cookie stand,” but so far this school year, the cookie stand has not been open.

“We’re fine-tuning the cookie stand plan as far as deciding what product to carry this year and putting together a group of people to run it,” Scott Sissom, business teacher and cookie stand manager, said.

So the cookie stand has not been closed down indefinitely and according to Sissom, it will probably be open within a week.

When the stand does open, they will still carry the same muffins and cookies as they have in past years, but Sissom said they are hoping to carry a new brand of bagels.

Sissom said, “We’re looking for a better bagel. The last few years we haven’t been happy with them.  We used to sell over 100 bagels a day.”

One more thing to look forward to could be the introduction of more than one cookie flavor at the cookie stand.

“[The cookie stand] may offer a few more flavors instead of just the simple chocolate chip,” Sissom said.

The price, however, will remain constant. Cookies will again be offered for a bag of two for $1.
