LHS Fashion classes go Hollywood for spring show

During all three lunch periods on May 14, the Fashion classes presented their annual Spring Fashion Show.

This semester the theme will be “LHS Goes Hollywood” and will feature all kinds of different styles for the upcoming summer break.

Fashion 1 students will be presenting handbags and skirts.  Fashion 3 students made lined dresses, jackets and skirts.

Also showing this semester, Fashion 2 student, senior Sarah Worley, will have her own collection entitled:  “A Shade Crazy” inspired by vintage looks and old photographs

But the fashion show is no walk in the park. Students have been preparing since the beginning of the semester for the big day.

“We work until the last minute to finish all garments for the show,” FACS teacher Erin Sieveking said.

Both the Fashion Design & Merchandising Classes have a huge part in the show.

” The students plan it, execute their plan, advertise it, choose the music and actually run it,” Sieveking said.

The students are graded on their finished garments and are required to participate in the show, although they do not have to model.

“On show day, everyone in fashion is involved in some way or another, whether by modeling, helping in the dressing rooms, taking photography or video or controlling the music playing,” Sieveking said.

Fashion 2 student, sophomore Katie Milman, loves getting ready for the fashion shows and can’t wait to show her new clothes.

“My garments are super cute and I can’t wait to show off my hard work,” Milman said.
