Weekly sports update: Jan. 13-Jan. 19

Boys Basketball: On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the boys basketball team faced off against Francis Howell and lost by a score of 58-42. Their game on Friday, Jan. 17 at Pattonville was canceled due to the snow and was moved to Feb. 3. Currently, their record is 6-6 with their next opponents being at Liberty High School on Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m and Marquette High School on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

Boys Wrestling: The Lancers faced off against McCluer North on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and won 63-15. For their next matches, they are wrestling against Lindbergh on Jan. 21 and at the 49th Winnetonka Invitational on Jan. 24-25 where 24 other teams are meeting.

Girls Basketball: The Lady Lancers only had one game this week. On Jan. 15, they played at home against Parkway central and lost the match 55-45. They look to improve their 3-10 record for their next game against Oakville at home on Jan. 21, and against McCluer North at home on Jan. 24.

Girls Swimming: The Lady Lancers team had a match on Jan. 14 against Parkway South and won the match 92-78. Sarah Higgins made the 100-meter back in the same meet. On Jan. 16, the Lady Lancers participated in a meet at Parkway West where Maggie Arceneaux, Galina Knysh and Anni Oscarson all placed well enough to be considered for the State meet.

Girls Wrestling: The girls team also beat McCluer North on Jan. 15. Their final score of the match was a close 30-21. Their next match will be against Lindbergh on Jan. 21.

Ice Hockey: Over the last week, the Lancers had two losses. The first was on Jan. 13 against De Smet, with the final score being 9-2. They also lost to Vianney on Jan. 16 with a score of 5-1. Their record currently stands at 10-8-2 and their final game of the regular season will be against SLUH on Jan. 24.
