I am unlike many of my peers.
My political ideology was established at an early age. I became fascinated with the 2000 election and the political dealings that preceded and followed it.
I am a Conservative and a Republican (although I do not always agree with the party).
I believe my fellow Conservatives and I have been greatly wronged by the youth and a large portion of the general public when it comes to the perceptions about what it means to be a Conservative.
The largest issue has to do with a very strong belief that I have. That belief is Individualism. Now you might be saying the usual nonsense “No, conservatives want everyone to be just like them!”
I hate to sound like a stereotypical dramatic teenager, but I am extremely misunderstood.
I am not a right-wing Nazi zealot, and I do not think we should declare a crusade against Islam.
I believe that our destinies should be decided by us and by God, not government. I believe that every man and woman should have the opportunity to attempt to succeed without the hindrance of government’s red tape. I believe that anyone may say what they want (as long as it doesn’t threaten anyone’s life or anything like that).
I believe in the power of a single person’s pocket book. I believe in the freedom of actions, and the personal responsibility that comes with it; the freedom to fail, and to succeed.
I believe that, in the words of Ronald Reagan, “Government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem.”
I believe in the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I am a conservative, and my beliefs will not be distorted.
