Five Questions with Taylor Hall, Superman fanatic

Five+Questions+with+Taylor+Hall%2C+Superman+fanatic+

Sophomore Taylor Hall has been obsessed with Superman for as long as she can remember. lhsimage.com asks Hall questions about her fondness for Superman

Q: When did you first start liking Superman?

A: I’m not exactly sure. When I was either three or four I decided to be him for Halloween since my brother was him the previous year. Weeks before and after Halloween I wouldn’t take off the costume because I was so proud of it.

Q: Why do you like Superman?

A: Sadly I don’t really know much about Superman. I’ve seen a few of the movies, and a few of the old episodes but not much more. I think I like him more than any other superhero because he used his own ability to save people. The idea of him having a nerdy, humble alter-ego instead of someone really powerful and over confident is something that I really like. I also really like the story between him and Louis Lane, so that’s a plus.

Q:  How many superman themed objects do you own?

A: There’s a ton. I have at least 23 articles of clothing/accessories that I wear a lot. The most unusual of those are my superman cape socks and my onesie. Along with that I have a Superman golf club cover, key chain, two things I have made, a cardboard cut out and a stuffed doll.

Q: Why does superman stand out to you as opposed to other superheroes?

A: Like I said earlier, I really like that he uses his own ability and skill, rather than money and gadgets like other superheros. Some other superheros needed other people to get there powers. Also, so many people have obsessions over the new superheros and can find objects at stores easily. Finding Superman themed objects are much harder and it has become a game with my family and I to try and find Superman things.

Q: What is your favorite superman themed object you own?

A: Well, a few years ago my dad and I made a Superman basketball hoop for my room. We cut the Superman symbol out of diamond plate aluminum and put a piece of plastic over it for the backboard. Then we drilled holes in the post and we threaded lights through it and behind the Superman symbol so it lights up. And I also really like the 3 x 2 1/2 feet wood Superman symbol we created when I was in 5th grade.
