Having been inspired by last year’s school theatre production of Footloose, senior Scott Carlson made the decision to get involved with acting.
“I went to Footloose and just watched the actors. It looked like they were having so much fun. The people in theatre really are my inspiration,” he said.
Carlson made efforts to immerse himself into acting, including beginning lessons at Stages, which offers all sorts of acting, music and voice theatre lessons.
Carlson has been involved in several LHS productions, including Thursday Night Live, One Acts and the upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet. He is also the Vice President of the Drama Club.
While Carlson believes improvisation is one of his stronger areas, he has had some weakness with scripts, which he has tried to improve upon through his lessons, in order to better his chances having an acting career.
“I have to work hard at it, and get a lot of help from my acting teacher,” Carlson said, “Hopefully with that, I won’t be as bad as I am now with scripts,” he added.
Carlson hopes to enter a college theater program.
