September 10, 2015
Over Labor Day weekend, Lafayette’s field hockey team was hard at work at the annual Gateway Classic Field Hockey Tournament. Entering the tournament with a record of 1-4, the Lady Lancers put up a fight and finished 1st in the tournament.
“It was awesome. We worked really hard and achieved our goal,” Anna Strode, junior, said.
The team’s regular season record now stands at 2-4 after a shut out game against University City ending with a score of 6-0.
Strode is confident in herself and her teammates for the rest of the season.
“We want to go as far as we can in the playoffs, but were not put our expectations too far up there. Were just going to play it one game at a time,” Strode said.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
