At the beginning of every school year, parents have the opportunity to meet their student’s teachers through Open House, which will take place on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. New families can attend a new parent meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the library.
The night will begin in the Gym for the opening session.
“After the opening session, at approximately 7:40 p.m., parents will follow their child’s schedule for the remainder of the evening,” Assistant Principal Tim Jones said.
They will follow the schedule as if it was an A day, meaning they will attend all classes in the order that they appear on the student’s schedule. Parents will spend about five minutes in each classroom.
According to Jones, there will also be representatives from organizatoins such as Lancer Parent Organization (LPO) selling spirit wear and taking volunteers for events throughout the year.
When asked what grade level Open House is intended for, Jones said parents from all grade levels are encouraged to attend.
“Everybody should come to open house. Senior parents need to meet their senior child’s teachers as well,” he said.
