Homecoming Dress Up Days

Holiday Day

Monday, Oct. 8 kicked off Homecoming week with the first dress up day: Holiday Day. Flyers and posters surfaced all over the school about a week beforehand, prompting students to dress up in celebration of their favorite holidays on the first day of Heroes and Villains week.

While the majority of students seemed to turn to winter holidays for their outfit’s inspiration, there were some that dressed as other seasonal holidays such as Halloween, Easter and the Fourth of July.

Dynamic Duo Day

The Dress Up Days continued on Tuesday, Oct. 9 with Dynamic Duo Day. Similar to last year’s Twin Day, pairs of best buds and significant others poured into Lafayette this morning wearing similar attire.

In the spirit of this year’s Heroes and Villains theme, a majority of students paired up as iconic superheroes, but there were reputable duos present such as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and the Super Mario Brothers.

Denim Day

The dress up day on Wednesday, Oct. 10 had the most retro theme of the week: Denim Day. The classic blue jean fabric could be seen everywhere as students wearing denim pants, shirts, jackets and skirts filled the school.

Villain Day

Despite the lack of participation from Powder Puff players, the fourth dress up day, Villain Day, was a success. Students went all out on Thursday, Oct. 11, dressing up as their favorite superhero foes.

Batman villains were the most popular, with multiple accounts of students dressing up as the Riddler, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and of course, the Joker.

Villain Day was not specifically exclusive to superhero villains. Other iconic archrivals such as Team Rocket and Darth Vader could be seen parading the halls as well.

Spirit Day

Friday, Oct. 12, the last day of Heroes and Villains week, ended the week with a good old fashioned Spirit Day. The halls were painted black, white and gold as students suited up in any LHS spirit wear they had in their closets.
