On April 8, during the eclipse, librarians, Jane Lingafelter and Robin Van Iwaarden, look at the sun using solar viewers, while on the field. Students and staff spent time on the field during the eclipse. The next partial eclipse in Missouri wont be till 2045.

Drug dogs search lockers, parking lot

This morning, Sept. 15, the drug dog made the second appearance in only a weeks’ time. 

“The minimum [amount a drug dog comes in] is twice a semester.  Once for the parking lots and once for the lockers,” Officer Ollie Helbig said.

“Our main goal is keeping the [drugs and alchohol] away from our school,” he continued.

It started a couple of years ago, and there has been “less and less” of a prevalence of drugs and alchohol found in Lafayette since they started the program.
