Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Lancer wrestling sends six to State this weekend

With the regular season coming to an end, Lafayette sends seven wrestlers to the Mizzou Arena for the State Tournament Feb. 17-18.

Seniors Ryan Jones, Khahyil Moore, Marshall Sleet, juniors Kirk Bradley, Nick Olejnick, and freshman Alec Reid are the select few headed to compete for State titles.

Wrestling Coach Scott Sissom said, “We are wrestling well now, hopefully we can get some guys to come home with medals.”

This year’s team included nine first and second year wrestlers who have made a noticeable improvement this season.

“The group has overachieved, they are young and getting better,” Sissom continued.

Three seniors and three underclassman are headed to State which leaves high hopes for the next couple of years as well as this year in the State Tournament.

“It’s going to be crazy walking out the tunnel and seeing thousands of fans all there to see you wrestle, ” Bradley said. This is Bradley’s first time going to State.
