Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Lancer soccer falls to Rockwood Summit in District semifinals

In a dramatic back and forth match against host Rockwood Summit, the Lafayette boys soccer team fell to the Falcons 3-2.

The Lancers beat Parkway South 2-0 on Oct. 29 to advance to semifinals, but couldn’t stay on top of  Summit on Nov. 1

“We couldn’t hold the lead,” Coach Tim Walters told STLhighschoolsports.com. “We had plenty of chances. We weren’t able to keep the ball out of the net.”

The Lancer’s freshman forward Austin Panchot got the team ahead early with a breakaway in the first six minutes, but lost the lead when Rockwood Summit tied the game in the 10th minute.

The Lancers recovered with a goal by junior Rodney McKenna with thirteen minutes left in the half, but again the lead did not last long, as Summit scored just two minutes later to tie the game.

The Falcons then secured their win with a goal seven minutes into the second half, which Lafayette failed to tie.

The Lancers ended their season with an overall record of 20-2-2, and ranked third in the Suburban West Conference.
