Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

St. Louie Style: The search for the perfect Homecoming dress

St. Louie Style: The search for the perfect Homecoming dress

It seems like high school girls look forward to school dances for two reasons: they get the guy they’ve been in love with for the past year to ask them to the dance, and they get to pick out a gorgeous dress to make them feel special for one night.

You can’t buy guys, but you can buy dresses. And the best place that I’ve found my dresses the past three years weren’t in the typical department stores like Macy’s and Dillard’s.

Every year, my friends and I go to the department stores and try on dresses for hours, finally narrowing it down to one lucky dress. In my case, though, I can’t even choose one that I like. I find the department store dresses too predictable and traditional. So I usually end up going shopping with my mom and my sister the next weekend at some different stores. Then I finally find the one I like.

Freshman year and junior year, I got lucky at Forever 21.  The first year, for my very first Homecoming, I found a purple dress with a neon colored floral print growing up from the hem line. It was pretty, different and no more than $30.

This year, my black sleeveless dress from Forever 21 also has a floral print in blues, greens and pinks. It was only $25. It can be dressed up for Homecoming this year with heels and long gold earrings, and dressed down next summer with gladiator sandals and a sweater.

Sophomore year, I went to Neiman Marcus and found the typical little black dress made of lace. It was simple and light, but not as traditional as the department store dresses. This dress was $80 dollars.

I would reccomend both Forever 21 and Neiman Marcus for dress shopping. Both stores sell the dresses for a good price, and they can be worn again. The dresses are different, colorful and stand out from the department store dresses. Forever 21 doesn’t have as wide a variety of dresses as Neiman Marcus, though.

The best place to shop for Homecoming dresses are the places you wouldn’t usually go to find them. Never settle for a department store dress if you can do a little searching to find something more unique.
