Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Championship season proves to be perfect storm

The Cardinals may win another World Series in the very near future, but nothing will ever beat what we watched this season.

Put it this way: The Rams could win a Super Bowl before something like this happens again. We might be dead at that point.

So many things came together perfectly to make this the most satisfying sports exerience I have ever had.

Just to get into the playoffs, the Cardinals had to make one of the historic comebacks in the history of sports. For an entire month, every game felt like a game seven.

At any point, they could have fallen out ofthe race and we would have talked about this team as a complete and utter failure. Losing Albert Pujols seemed like a decent possibility.

They say the lows make you appreciate the highs, and that’s exactlyhow I would describe this season. I’ll take that roller coaster ride any day, as long as it ends with a championship.

I now have a greater appreciation for the difficulty of winning, especially in baseball.

And of course, watching David Freese made it that much better. He brought Cardinal fans at Lafayette even closer together just by giving giving us that extra connection to the team.

We all felt like we knew him because at one point he was just like us.

Think about how everyone that attended Lafayette this year will beable to tell their kids that a Cardinal legend went to their school.

How cool is that?

Even another Lafayette grad comes along and leads the Cardinals or Rams to a championship, it won’t meananything with us no longer at the school.

While the Cardinals are likely to send out more dominating championship teams in the future, it’s pretty safe to say that none will be as unique or special to those of us at Lafayette.
