At the 2023 Prom, Class of 2023 graduates Joe Marlo and Will Barry stay at the edge of the main floor to do their dancing. Because the small dance floor was the most crowded area, many students gathered around the edges with friends or in small groups.

Seniors get ready for the Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son Brunch

The Mother/Son Brunch and Father/Daughter dance will be held on March 9 at Forest Hills Country Club. Tickets for the brunch are $40 a pair, and dance tickets are $60 a pair, and will be available during all lunch periods from Feb. 26-28.

“I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my mom,” senior John Glaser said. “She’s kind of my best friend.”

Usually, about 130 people purchase tickets for the Mother/Son Brunch and around 100 sign up for the Father/Daughter Dance, said Assistant Principal Tim Jones. Currently, 40 people have registered for the Mother/Son Brunch and 26 people have purchased tickets for the Father/Daughter Dance.

The brunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Dance from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.

“At the Mother/Son, the senior men get a chance to talk, it’s like an open mike time, and just share things about their mom with other people, like hey mom I love you, I appreciate you. Some do things a little humorous some a little more serious,” Jones said. “At the Father/Daughter though, the daughters don’t come up and speak. We pick a senior daughter to talk about memories of their dad. It’s a great way to share great memories about your dad with your friends in a formal setting.”
