Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Students and parents invited to Curriculum Night

Current and incoming students and parents are encouraged to attend Lafayette’s Curriculum Night on Jan. 18th. Curriculum Night is designed to inform parents and students of the classes and curriculum that LHS has to offer.

The events of Curriculum Night will begin in the Lafayette Theater at 7:00 p.m. with a 30-minute presentation. After that, the parents and students are free to roam the Commons, Gym and Library to familiarize themselves with the building and have any questions and concerns answered.

The leaders of every academic department will be located in the Commons, ready to answer questions. The teachers of these departments will be in the Gym taking questions as well. Counselors will be available in the Library, assisting with registration.

Participants will be able to search the displays and ask questions until 9 p.m.

“I like Curriculum Night because it’s a very relaxed atmosphere,” says Assistant Principal Mandy Lewis. “It gives the parents the opportunity to come in and ask the questions that they have.”

Even though Curriculum Night is geared toward parents of new and incoming students, anyone who has any questions and concerns regarding the curriculum are invited to come as well.
