Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

District-wide ACT for Juniors

AXT testing will take place soon on Tuesday April 23

Juniors are gearing up for the district-wide ACT test to be taken on April 24.

In order to prepare for the test, since freshman year, teachers have been adding in the ACT styled questions to the test the students already take. Along with that, language teachers have been teaching the vocabulary needed for the test.

Some juniors are trying to get ahead by doing the online prep test.

“I have my own passcode and everything,” Junior Laynie Henning said.

“We hope that our juniors this year do well just like previous years” Assistant Principal Kirti Mehrotra said.

While some students have taken the test many times like Henning, others such as Junior Jenna Moore are first-timers to this rigorous test.

“I am just going to go in blind and see how it goes. I am kind of excited to see how I do on it.” Moore said.

While the juniors are hard at work the rest of the students will be having a blast participating in various activities.

The freshman will be in three different sessions which include, Dying high in the ER, tune in, and fear factor, all located around the school.

The sophomores will be able to enjoy a career fair located in the front gym with over 100 different professionals teaching the students about what it takes to be a part of a given career.

Finally the seniors will be meeting in the Commons to be able to go spend the day full of fun at the Zoo.
