Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Jostens graduation forms due Oct. 20 and Oct. 21

Jostens graduation forms due Oct. 20 and Oct. 21

The deadline for turning in graduation order forms is quickly approaching. Seniors must complete the forms for graduation products and return it to school Thursday, Oct. 20 or Friday, Oct. 21.

Jostens representatives will be on the stage in the Commons during all lunch periods Oct. 20 and 21. Graduation order forms, with at least a $60 deposit, must be turned in by Friday.

During the Senior Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12, seniors were given a packet that included a booklet that had all the graduation products, an order form for graduation items, a reservation form for the Senior Celebration and an order form for class rings, if a student had not previously ordered one or needs a replacement. Extra packets are available in the Senior Office.

Graduation products include announcements, senior apparel, tassels, keychains, memory books and jewelry. Packages are available to order mutliple items together or items can be ordered individually.

Assistant Principal Tim Jones said everything that is part of this order is optional.

Jones said, “We do a lot of great things here and provide a lot of opportunities for a lot of neat memory makers for seniors and their parents, but the only thing you have to pay for is, if you want to participate in the graduation ceremony, the cap and gown and graduation fee [which will be due in January].”

When turning in the order form, seniors must have a $60 deposit. If the order is over $60, the rest of the payment must be turned in later. However, Jostens representative Sam Glennon, who spoke to seniors during the assembly, emphasized that if the order is under $60, students only need to bring in the amount of their order form. He said a common mistake was that students who had a cheaper order still brought in a $60 deposit, but this was not necessary.

The Senior Celebration form to purchase tickets also went out with the graduation packet, but these are not due by Oct. 21. Deadlines and prices for the tickets are on the form.
