Pepper’s Deli & BBQ fails to disappoint

The outside of the restaurant doesn’t live up to the quality of the food.

A few days ago, a friend and I decided to treat ourselves by going out to eat. It was much needed in this very long, stressful first full week. For dinner, we went to a little hole in the wall restaurant. One could easily miss it, as it is sneaked away right beside a car repair garage. Missing it would be a mistake.

Locally owned, Pepper’s makes sandwiches and other deli favorites using their own smoked meats, which can be smelled the moment of arrival. I had the Screwy Schue, which is stacked high with smoked chicken, ham, bacon and coleslaw. The coleslaw might sound strange, but it actually works really well on a sandwich.

The only problem is the aftermath of eating this stacked sandwich, which can be found on your hands, plate and in my case, my shirt.

I still highly recommend checking out Pepper’s. They are open most days 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., located at 32 Clarkson Road. For more information, check out their Facebook.
