Just above the carousel on the second floor of Chesterfield mall, you will find the relatively new boutique Francesca’s Collections. This small store opened around the middle of April 2012, and targets mainly women between the ages of 18 and 35.
Upon stepping into the small boutique, I first noticed the walls. The sunflower color was decorated brightly with funny signs and mirrors, all for sale. Shelves containing a bright array of clothing and knickknacks lined the walls. Upbeat music was playing in the background. Overall, it gave off a very welcoming, comfortable aura. It may have been small, but there was still plenty of space to walk around and view everything. I liked it immediately.
The associates were very kind and helpful, answering all and any questions I had about the store. One of the workers, Cole Ritcher, happens to be a senior at Lafayette, and seems to love working at Francesca’s Collections.
The store’s main audience is women, selling all sorts of vibrant and lovely blouses, skirts and dresses. Fashionable purses, shoes, scarves, hats, coats and a lot of jewelry were strategically placed around the store, usually by color.
In addition, small trinkets, like key chains, cellphone cases and mustache-shaped erasers, had their very own stands next to the cash register. There were dozens of unique knickknacks all over the place, and nothing was priced too high.
In the words of associate Elizabeth Ward, Francesca’s Collections offers “a little bit of everything.”
I didn’t have any money with me during my visit, but I know that I will definitely be coming back, this time to buy something cute and affordable.
