Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”

Club Spotlight: Paintball Club provides students with unique opportunity

Paintball club, sponsored by Ryan Bixby, science teacher, is not affiliated with the school, but it gives students who share a common love of paintballing the time and place to plan group paintball outings.

“It is just a group of individuals with a passion for paintball who meet and congregate in my room and organize paintball outings,” Bixby said.

The club meets on random Fridays to plan the outing for the following Friday. Then they meet again on the Wednesday to make sure everything and everyone is accounted for, and everyone has paid their fees.

Each paintball outing costs each person about $30.

“That covers all equipment, all fees, and then you get 500 paintballs to play,” Bixby said.

The club was started last year by two girls who wanted to start a club and who had an interest in paintballing. However, the club wasn’t very successful until this school year.

According to Bixby, the club now has 12 regular members and about 20 non-regular members.

When asked why people should join the club, Bixby said, “If you enjoy paintball and want clubs on your college applications. It’s a good time and it’s kind of athletic and it’s good cross training.”
