Vlasis Park, Ballwin’s largest park, features two baseball diamond fields, a playground, four tennis courts, restrooms, two ponds, two pavilions, a walking path, two sand volleyball courts and eight horseshoe courts.
That’s 31 acres of plenty to do.
The park is located north of Manchester Road between Seven Trails Drive, Ball Park Drive and Holloway Drive.
It is free to the public, aside from pavilion reservations.
Vlasis Pavilion #1 is adjacent to the park’s restroom facility and seats 80 guests on the east side of the park. It has lights, electrical outlets and a BBQ grill. Reservations for this pavilion cost $45 for Ballwin residents and $60 for non-residents.
The other pavilion, Vlasis Pavilion #2, has the same amenities as Vlasis Pavilion #1 but it is not adjacent to the restroom facility and is located on the west side of the park. This pavilion costs $35 for Ballwin residents and $50 for non-residents.
Both pavilions are perfect for a sunny get-together or evening BBQ with a group of friends.
Reservations must be made in person at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons, located south of Manchester Road on Ballwin Commons Circle, just off of Ballwin Commons Drive and Old Ballwin Road. Call 636-227-8950 or visit www.ballwin.mo.us for more information.
Vlasis has a playground, which is not only great for younger kids, but also for older people looking to goof around. It’s a nice break from the everyday routine to be able to actually go outside and play instead of playing video games.
For those who prefer to relax while outside, Vlasis has two ponds which house various fishes, ducks and geese. The ponds allow catch-and-release fishing, but has signs discouraging feeding the ducks and geese.
From its sports areas to its playground to its pavilions, Vlasis has something for everyone to enjoy on a sunny spring day. Before it gets too hot and humid, get outside and enjoy the weather.
