How to make a frozen latte

Everyone needs a pick-me-up now and then, and for most, coffee satisfies that calling. But with the current economy bearing down on the American public, it’s hard to find the $6 for a premium coffee.

So, it has become economically smart to make a home brew of coffee to satisfy those cravings.

Still, it’s hard to get the coffeehouse taste back home, especially when it comes to frozen coffee drinks.

The solution, however, is as simple as a blender.

To both fuel up for the day and satisfy a sweet tooth, this simple recipe will help you wake up and scrounge your pennies in the sweetest way possible.

Similar to a Moolatté® from Dairy Queen and the famous Frappuccino® from Starbucks, this frozen drink will have you off to a running start.

The Frozen Lancer Latté:

To begin, you will need one cup of brewed, double strength coffee along with one half cups of milk, three tablespoons of sugar, two cups of vanilla ice cream, one and a half cups of ice, three tablespoons of chocolate sauce or caramel sauce, one half cups of half and half (cream) and of course some whipped cream. You will also be needing a blender for this drink.
Now, it’s time to begin.

  1. First , put the milk, coffee, Half & Half and sugar into the blender and mix it for a few seconds to ensure a proper mixing.
  2. Next, add the ice cream into the blender as well and mix until the drink becomes thick and creamy. Also, while blending, add the chocolate or caramel sauce of your choice into the mix and allow ample time for the mixture to merge.
  3. Then, blend in the ice for some extra thickness. Make sure that the ice is blended well enough so that the chunks do not become an issue for drinking the coffee through a straw.
  4. Finally, pour the drink into your favorite cup or travel mug and don’t forget to add the whipped cream for that special cherry on top, though cherries are not recommended. (And if you are a true caramel or chocolate lover, feel free to sprinkle some caramel or chocolate on top of the whipped cream for that true, sugary sweetness.)

Overall, this recipe should provide for two Lancer Lattés, so be sure to share one with a friend.

And remember, always drink coffee responsibly.
