Social Studies teacher Steve Klawiter will have his AP World History class take the digital exam this May. He said he looks forward to seeing how his students will perform on the exam. “Its been very clear theyre moving towards digital. Since the pandemic started, theyve been putting the pieces in place to go digital, Klawiter said. “I think that ultimately it’s going to be more beneficial because with systems like Canvas and Google Classroom, students are used to more digital activities and less handwriting activities.”
Nine AP exams will transition to digital format in 2025, additional six in 2026

Eklund has aspirations for higher office

The presidency is a job many kids dream of having but soon realize that its not all its cracked up to be. Being president comes with an insane amount of responsibility with people judging you on your ability to work under pressure. However for junior Alex Eklund none of these challenges have fazed him as he still plans on running for president as soon as he is of age.

1. When did you decide you wanted to run for president?
I was a freshman and my dad was like, “When I was a kid everyone wanted to be president.” And I thought, “Hey, I could do that.”

2. What party do you usually side with and why?
I’m an independent; I tend to lean to the right because socially I favor family values.”

3. What is your favorite part of a leadership role?
I like the opportunity to serve people, to me leadership is not about power, it’s about having fun and serving other people. And when you are in a leadership position, you have no excuse to not make a difference”

4. What kind of things do you do to try and prepare yourself for this role?
I’m trying to get good grades to go to a selective school and more importantly a prestigious law school and stay participatory in politics. Winning senior class president is a start.

5. In a time when the president is often criticized and is obviously saddled with a lot of power, how do you plan to handle that?
With great power comes great responsibility, and I’m a resilient guy. I plan on sticking to what I believe in and not letting hasty politics change me.
