The LHS bands performed in concert, Feb. 26, in the Theater. All pieces performed at the concert will be played again, as well as judged, at the MSHSAA Large Group Festival, Mar. 4, which will take place at Lindbergh High School. In addition, each band will be handed an entirely new sheet of music that must be learned in six minutes to be judged.
Concert Band took the stage first, playing Fidelity March by Karl King.
Following that, Concert Band ended their portion of the performance with Legend of the Drop Bear by Brian Balmages.
Following the conclusion of Concert Band’s portions, Symphonic Band played the first of their three pieces: Keystone by JaRod Hall.
After that, Symphonic Band played their second piece, titled Ave Maria by Franz Schubert.
The third and final piece Symphonic Band played was called Dragonstone by Gavin Lendt.
Like all other band concerts, Wind Ensemble ended the night. They played two pieces, with the first one titled Colossus of Columbia by Russel Alexander.
Wind Ensemble’s second piece, and the final piece of the entire concert, was San Antonio Dances.
At the conclusion of the concert, social studies teacher Steve Klawiter also took a moment to recognize music teacher Brad Balog for receiving the Teacher of the Year award. Klawiter, along with junior Charlie Blumenkemper nominated Balog.

The final band concert of the year is on Thursday, May 1. In addition, percussion has their own concert Tuesday, April 1.
