The Lancers boys soccer team (6-4) is managing to stay above .500 this year despite defensive woes and a lack of offensive production. Last season’s team managed to not lose a game through the regular season, and this year the team really seems to be struggling to find their identity as a squad to consistently win games.

However, despite all of this, junior Jack Lucy said, “We don’t have the same record as last year, but we aren’t going to let that distract us and it will show in these upcoming games.”

Optimism like this is definitely going to play a factor if the team is going to turn it around down the stretch. The team has scored 17 goals this year through 10 games so far and have allowed nine goals. Last season through ten games, the team scored 14 goals and allowed only two goals.

The squad still has room to grow the rest of the season, and hopefully they can hit their stride as a team before the State playoffs start.  You can see them in action next on Sept. 22 at home against the Parkway West Longhorns (7-2).
