Coming 1st place tournament of freestyle wrestling, freshman Owen Hardy said he enjoys this style of wrestling. Hardy was part of the Lafayette wrestling team, which compete in folkstyle wrestling. Im doing freestyle to stay in shape, and its pretty fun. Hardy said.

At a North Carolina national park in 2015, junior Megan Pannell first discovered her fear of spiders. Her dad pointed out a spider, which caused Pannell to panic at the sight. “That’s when I think he realized, ‘yeah, you’re definitely afraid of spiders’, Pannell said.

Junior Conner McCown putts during the Webster Cup Invitational tournament. McCown placed 13th with a round of 77.

On April 8, during the eclipse, librarians, Jane Lingafelter and Robin Van Iwaarden, look at the sun using solar viewers, while on the field. Students and staff spent time on the field during the eclipse. The next partial eclipse in Missouri wont be till 2045.

At Barnes & Noble, senior Vedika Kumar participated in Blind Date with a Book. During this event, books are wrapped in paper with descriptive words that give a hint about the novel, and individuals are free to choose which one they want to buy.

After finishing their tests in history teacher Steve Klawiters class, students can participate in an optional trivia section. While Klawiter usually doesnt offer rewards for the highest score on the trivia section, it offers a way for students to decompress after unit tests.
History teacher provides de-stressing activities to students
Freshman Emi Limon competes in the 2022 World Kickboxing and Karate Union Championship in Wales. Even though Limon has only been doing karate for three years, he won four medals at the October competition— a gold medals in Weapons with Music and Korean Forms, a silver medal in Hardstyle Forms and a bronze medal in Weapons with no Music.

Lady Lancers look to overcome losing streak; make a run in Districts

Coming off a five game losing streak to end the regular season, the Lady Lancers are desperate for a win or else thier 2012-2013 season is over for good.

They will be facing Rockwood Summit (11-14) in the first round of the District tournament. The Falcons’ key victories on the season have been their 48-43 win over Ritenour and besting Kirkwood 50-47 to end the regular season.

The winner of this matchup of the two 11-14 teams will move on to face Parkway South who boasts a perfect record in Suburban West play and an overall record of 23-3. The Patriots are also currently on a 12 game win streak headed into Districts.

Seniors Hannah Finley and Hannah Schneider know that this may be their last game in a Lancer uniform and they aren’t going down without a fight. Finley is leading the team with 13.3 ppg, while Schneider leads the team in rebounds and is putting up 9.4 ppg.

The win or go home game tips off tonight at Marquette at 7:15.
