Not even a strong Wentzville-Holt team can stop the Lancers now, after the team scored a 76-59 victory on Feb. 16 to extend their winning streak to 10 games.
The Indians (17-4) had won their last seven games and came in led by senior Dantiel Daniels, a 6 foot 6 inch forward averaging 22.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. But the Lancers held him to a quiet 16 points and were able to limit his impact for most of the game.
Junior Joel Pennington found his shot early and often, leading the Lancers with 25 points and five three-pointers. Senior Aareon Smith and junior Nick Messer finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively, and all three players hit threes to help the team to a 21-17 first quarter lead.
Luke Kreienkamp also added 11 points.
The Lancers struggled to take advantage of free throws in the second quarter and allowed Holt to take a 32-30 lead into halftime. But they were able to retake the lead and pull away in the second half as Pennington continued his barrage of threes.
With the win, the Lancers are now 17-7 overall. Their 6-1 Conference record has them tied for second in the Suburban West standings with one game remaining before Districts. That game is against an even tougher opponent in Parkway South (19-4, 5-1).
Tip off against the Patriots is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 at Lafayette.

![Watching a small group scrimmage, Ben Lundt, St. Louis City SC goalkeeper and founder of Lundt Pro Soccer Training, shouts words of encouragement to players on Sunday, April 26 n the Lafayette grass soccer field. “The idea behind [the event] was to bring the professional soccer players closer to the community because usually people only get to see us on TV or in the stadium. [Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
