The first race of the Lancers’ Jan. 26 meet against Parkway South set the tone for the night’s competition. The meet began with the 200 medley relay, where the Lancers edged out the Patriots by a mere 0.07 seconds with a time of 1:59:26.
There were many close races, earning Parkway South a total of 82 points despite the fact that they won only three events in the meet.
The final score was 104-82, with the Lady Lancers coming out on top in 10 0f the 13 events. However, the Lancer’s most historically successful event, the 400 free relay was taken by Parkway South with a time of 3:49:79.
The one event that was decisively won was diving. Senior Alyssa Shaw, sophomore Kelly Shaw and freshman Sophie Gebauer took first, second and third in the event, respectively.
