Class of 2014 hosts Winter Carnival

On Saturday, Jan. 29, the Class of 2014 will host the annual Winter Carnival, to take the first step in raising money for their Senior Celebration.

The carnival will begin at 10 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m.  It will be held in both the front and back gyms and will include various games and activities.

Assistant Principal Mandy Lewis said, “We’re going to have inflatables. We’re going to have face painting.  There’s going to be a lot of small games like the bean bag toss, a lollipop tree, a bunch of games for candy prizes.”

Freshman student volunteers will be the main people running the carnival.  Lewis said most of the students volunteering are members of Freshman Advisory; however any freshman can volunteer and be a part of the event.

Admission to the carnival is free, but Lewis said tickets will be sold to participate in the games and activities.  One ticket will cost a quarter, but five tickets can be purchased for $1.

Two free tickets will be given to any children who bring a colored picture of the clown in the winter carnival flyer.  This can be accessed and printed by following the link below:

The event has always been successful in the past, and Lewis believes it will be again this year.

“I expect it to be very well attended.  I think it will be a lot of fun for the kids,” she said.
