Starting next fall, language arts teacher Melinda Bond will assume an administrative position at Crestview Middle School.
In March, Bond found out she had been selected to be an administrative intern at Crestview.
“I started looking for administrative positions in the spring of 2009. At Crestview, I will be the 7th grade principal next year. I will also be the Special School District liaison and will be evaluating the Science Department along with other duties that have not been assigned yet. I am excited to work with the students,” Bond said about her new job next year.
Bond said, “I am looking forward to my 7th graders! I have met a few, and they are full of contagious energy. I can’t wait to work with the administrative team, too. They have made me feel so welcomed. I wish I was starting the day after school gets out.”
Although she is excited to be moving to a new environment, she will miss Lafayette.
Bond said, “I will miss so much of Lafayette. It has been a home away from home for 14 years. I will miss the relationships that I have with my students especially. I will miss Homecoming, football games, tailgates, Prom, graduation, Renaissance, Baccalaureate, baby showers, bridal showers, scheduling with the counselors and the incredible staff that I work with.”
